Sewing for Kids

This is a dress from Burda Kids Magazine, Spring 2000, design 639. I donated this to the 2002 LLL Area Conference for a drawing. It's made out of a linen/cotton/rayon blend, and I put it together on my old Singer Featherweight 221.

This hat is from McCalls 2205. Caleb had been begging for something out of camo fabric, so I made this hat.

Calvin got a hat too, from Clifford fabric (one of his favorite characters). I like the stiching design I did on Caleb's hat better (triangles). For this one, I did rows 1/4" apart.

New Look 6800. My first 'real' polar fleece project ever! Next time I will shorten the crotch depth, but otherwise, I'm quite pleased with how these turned out.

Now the boys match. Same pattern (different size), though I shortened the crotch depth on these 2 inches, and I like the fit better.

This fleece pullover is from the Fall/Winter 2002 issue of Burda Kids. I made a size 110/116 for Caleb, and at first I thought it was too short, but now that it is done, I like it. It took forever to find a woven to match the fleece, and I ended up using a babywale corduroy.
